Title: NetXen, Inc. NetXen NX3031 Dual-Port 10-Gigabit Ethernet Intelligent NIC Microsoft Windows 2003 32-bit Server Performance

Publication date:   25 August 2008
Document number:    208327

Abstract:

NetXen, Inc. commissioned The Tolly Group to evaluate the performance of the company’s NX3031 Dual-Port 10-Gigabit Ethernet Intelligent NIC® across a wide range of real-world, I/O intensive scenarios.

Tolly Group engineers benchmarked the performance of NetXen’s NX3031 running in a 32-bit Microsoft Windows Server 2003 platform. The evaluations measured aggregate network throughput and server CPU utilization. Tests covered unidirectional and bidirectional traffic flows, as well as port balancing, and CPU utilization. Ixia’s IxChariot traffic generation tool and Microsoft’s NTttcp traffic generation tool were used to generate simulated real-world application traffic across the server system under test.

Tests were conducted in July 2008.
